Lisa had to say...I'm a forensic psychologist (no, I'm not a profiler or a crime scene investigator :) ) I live in Virginia with my husband and our two cats. I love to read fiction and memoirs. Based on the above information, I've gotten a couple of requests for book recommendations...so I thought I'd add them here in case anyone else is interested. The following are written by academics - so they tend to get into the psychology behind murder. 1. Serial Murderers and Their Victims (Hickey) 2. The Murderer Next Door (Buss) 3. The Female Homicide Offender: Serial Murder and the Case of Eileen Wournos (Shipley & Arrigo) 4. The Killers Among Us (Egger). If you are interested in just a basic true crime novel (written by a novelist, not an academic, so it's really just a retelling of the facts), one of my favorites is The Stranger Beside Me by Ann Rule. It's an in depth look at Ted Bundy. |
